MCWA is involved with the communities in and around our watershed.
Nineteen townships and five boroughs are a part of our watershed.
Greenwich, Maiden Creek, and Richmond townships are entirely within
the watershed. The boroughs of Kutztown, Fleetwood, Lenhartsville,
and Lyons are also completely in the watershed. Nearly all of
Albany, Lynn, and Maxatawny townships are within the watershed. And
let’s not forget the City of Reading is also important to MCWA as
they draw their drinking water out of Lake Ontelaunee.
MCWA participates in with many local events in the community. These
include Berks Earth Day, Reading and Kutztown Fairs, River fest and
other local events. We visit local schools to inform children as to
where their water comes from and what a watershed means to them.
You may also see representatives from MCWA at local town meetings
keeping informed about water management within the watershed.
